Introducing the Bolton Wanderers Game Zone

Philips Monitors wanted to make a difference for young fans and their families at Bolton Wanderers’ stadium. So, in partnership with the club, they refurbished the family GameZone with brand new high resolution monitors, PS5s, and copies of FIFA! 

Their goal (no pun intended) was to engage young people and enhance the family experience at the club during match days.

As Philips has worked with us before on several successful projects, including case studies for EG Group and showcasing Philips’ products in a Canary Wharf showroom, they came to us wanting some ideas on how they could showcase this with video.

So, we put our thinking caps on….!

We’ve a history of producing all types of video content, with dramas being one part of that. So, we thought this time we’d bring that expertise to Philips Monitors and produce short, TV-ad style videos to showcase the new GameZone. 

We wanted to capture the joy of families and children enjoying the GameZone. We cast actors of all ages and scripted two short, fun scripts that would work on social media (i.e. there wouldn’t be any dialogue so people could enjoy the videos with the sound off!).

We even managed to get players from the main squad involved in their acting debuts as well! It really was a packed day with a bustling set, but with multiple cameras and a well-coordinated team, we wrapped up just about on time! As if the day wasn’t busy enough, we also found time to capture an additional three talking head videos for LinkedIn, showcasing behind-the-scenes insights and interviews from all the stakeholders.

The videos aimed to help Bolton Wanderers boost attendance, and they’re seeing record season ticket sales, so it’s safe to say the videos contributed to that success.

The teams at Philips and Bolton were over the moon with the final product, as it was something they hadn’t done before. The positive feedback from both teams suggests this won’t be the last time we collaborate on such projects!
