The video was a huge success. We combined the live action footage with slick 3D animations of the app itself, showing exactly how it works and what it can do. The final result helped create a real buzz on social media when the app launched. The Council were chuffed, The Dairy were happy, and we were proud to be part of something that’s genuinely useful for people in our city. A proper home-grown project – and we loved every minute of it!
Nottingham City Council were getting ready to launch a brand new travel app. It was a big one too – you could plan your journey, buy tickets and hop on everything from buses and trams to e-scooters and bikes, all in one app! So t get people properly engaged, they needed a fun, clear explainer video. That’s when our long-time pals at The Dairy got in touch! They knew we’re local, we get Nottingham, and we’ve got a knack for telling a story in a way that sticks.
The app was aimed at students, so we cast a diverse range of three young actors to feature in the starring roles. We followed them as they zipped around the city – on buses, trams, e-scooters and more. We kept the kit lightweight so we could move quickly across the city as we shot on real public transport. Yep, we left the cars at home and jumped on the buses and trams too! Thankfully we got lucky with the weather and captured loads of lovely, sunny shots. And to give it that proper Nottingham feel, we added a brilliant local voiceover artist into the mix.
