C-DICE runs a national programme that supports postdocs across the UK. We’d filmed their national conference the year before, and in the meantime had also produced a ton f e-learning video content for the programme too. So when the 2025 annual conference rolled around in York, it made sense for them to bring us back again! They wanted an event highlights video that captured the energy of the day and the value of bringing postdocs together, but they also wanted a full video record of the presentations and plenty of extra content they could keep using afterwards.
We filmed the conference with a small but busy crew! Throughout the day we grabbed plenty of shots showing the buzz of the event alongside several interviews we captured back-to-back over the lunch break (not unusual for most event videos!)
At the same time, a dedicated camera op recorded the full presentations in the main hall on two cameras, giving us a clean and flexible edit of every talk. A few weeks after the event wrapped, we produced a two-minute highlights film, edited the full presentation recordings, and created a bank of social media clips using additional interview moments that didn’t appear in the main video.
By the end of the project, C-DICE had far more than just a highlights video. The main video captures the atmosphere of the conference and the value of bringing postdocs together, while the full presentation recordings give them a lasting resource they can share and reuse in the future. Plus, they received a large library of short social clips created from additional interview footage. We always try to give clients as much value as possible from a single shoot day, so they come away with a whole bank of useful content rather than just one finished video.
