For the past 50 years, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust has been providing support and care to people with Cystic Fibrosis as well as promoting excellence in research and clinical care. To celebrate this outstanding milestone, we produced a charity video to thank every single person who has supported them throughout their half century.
An emotive script was put together with the intention of thanking every single person who had supported the charity over the years. Name-checking everyone from cake bakers to marathon runners, the film was to be a personal message delivered by the Chief Executive. Or so we thought…!
As the filming day arrived for the charity video, our star of the show had very unfortunately fallen ill! Suddenly we had no one to front the film and only had a few hours to put together and shoot a Plan B!
Thankfully, with the help of an autocue operator and a number of very willing volunteers, the charity video was saved by the many hardworking staff at CFT. Their interpretations of the script gave the film a truly personal and heartfelt touch and as a result, produced a very emotive charity video.
This goes to show that whatever a filming day throws at you, even your main star falling ill, there’s always a way!
