During Mental Health Awareness Week, BBC Doctors wanted to create some engaging online content to support the cause. They aimed to involve characters and actors from the show in short videos for their popular Facebook group.
With a massive following, BBC Doctors saw an opportunity to make a significant impact by sharing this content online. They decided to step outside the BBC for a fresh perspective and chose Boxset Media Ltd to bring this vision to life. Our experience and innovative approach made us the perfect partner for this heartfelt project.
The BBC Doctors team had written several scripts, including poems and short dramas, all revolving around mental health themes. We had 3 days to shoot all 7 films, with only a few hours with each actor due to filming schedules of the show to work around!
The actors were genuinely passionate about the project, which brought a special energy to the production. We loved every moment of the shoot, knowing we were part of something special. The videos were completely different from what the audience usually sees, offering a fresh and emotional perspective that resonated deeply with viewers.
The videos were a massive hit on social media and YouTube. The final 6 films were edited within a week and received tens of thousands of views across the BBC One and BBC Doctors social media channels.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive too, with many praising the unique and touching approach to mental health awareness. The actors’ involvement added authenticity and passion, making the content even more impactful.
What was quite impressive was Micks ability to lend himself to different styles of video, both through filming and editing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Boxset to anyone
