When you have had a promotional video created for your company, it needs to be put on the internet video map. It is very easy to upload your video production to your website, YouTube and similar websites and just hope people will find it, but this is what thousands of others do; your video will become a fish in a sea of thousands. To make sure it is found, a little ground work has to be done to promote your video
Title it – When you’ve got a video production in front of you that makes your company shine, it needs to have a name that attracts attention. Just like a novel, it needs to turn heads and attract the people who are interested in your product so a great title will help promote your video no end. Not only is your title important for grabbing the eyes of people, it is vital for Google and YouTube. People flock to both of these major search engines to search for everything, and the name of your video is what the Google Bots will use to index your video.
Put it everywhere – Take a look at your email footer. Your website is more than likely sitting there, advertising itself to everyone you contact. What else should be there? Your YouTube channel, and/or a link to promote your video. Add your additional social media links too. Take any opportunity to advertise all of your available marketing material everywhere. Put it on letterheads, promotional materials, and packaging if you send it out. Create a QR code that links to your video production and add it to your promotional printed materials.
Share it – Have you got additional social media channels set up, such as Facebook and Twitter? Take this opportunity to promote your video. Ask people to share it, talk about it, and tell their friends. Join forces with companies who are related to your business and ask them to advertise your video production on their social sites in return for a promotion of them on your part. As an example, if you’re a bakery, ask your flour supplier if they’ll talk about the cakes that you make, and how they have contributed. All lines of your suppliers will be interested in sharing if they’re getting something in return. Don’t forget to share your video via your newsletter too.
Promoted Videos – An additional option to promote your video production if it is within your budget, is paid advertising on YouTube. This enables you to specify the audience for your video, and it will be targeted towards your chosen audience on YouTube. You can target customers by topic, by keywords, or by demographics such as ‘men under 35.’
If you have a fantastic piece of video marketing, don’t waste your efforts; ensure that you market it to its full potential. When the viewing numbers keep increasing and your sales begin to increase, your efforts will be completely worth it!
